Clinical Director

K. H. Kim, LCSW, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Psychotherapy Associates and Pediatric Psychotherapy Associates.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University in Waco and a Master of Science in Psychiatric Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington.  

With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, Ms. Kim specializes in play therapy for young children, as well as talk therapy for adolescents, adults, couples and families.  She has extensive training and experience in working with clients with various issues, including trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, school and behavioral problems, autism and sensory processing disorders, among others.  

Ms. Kim is the author of Therapeutic Parenting: How to Raise an Emotionally Healthy Child, as well as numerous articles in various parenting magazines and newsletters.  She also provides therapeutic parenting skills training to biological parents, foster parents and various organizations committed to improving the lives of children and their families.  

Ms. Kim is a Past President of the Hill Country Chapter of the Texas Association for Play Therapy. Her other distinctions include memberships in the Psi Chi Honor Society and the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society.  In addition to these, she received her Certification for Effective Supervision for Social Work Practice in 1999.

Christina Carson, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation (Applied Life Sciences) from the University of Illinois in Champaign and received her Master in Education (Guidance and Counseling) from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. 

With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, Ms. Carson specializes in working with children and adolescents, ages 3-11, who are affected by abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, divorce, depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, and behavioral and school issues, among others.  She has provided therapy in numerous settings, including residential treatment centers, non-profit organizations, as well as school and in-home settings.  She believes in the importance of working with parents and other family members, as well as teachers, to create a strong circle of support for her clients.  

Ms. Carson uses various interventions to help facilitate the therapeutic process, including play therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, experiential therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and strength-based activities to help children develop better coping skills.  She also helps her clients to improve their communication and social skills so that they can express their feelings, wants and needs, as well as cultivate connections with their family members, friends and others out in the community.

Ms. Carson is the co-creator of the therapeutic game, "The Medicine Wheel Game," which helps people of all ages come to a closer understanding of their environment and relationship with others.  She is also a recipient of the Golden Apple Award in the past years for her supportive work with children with special needs at AISD.

T. A. Marini, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a B.F.A. from Ohio State University and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Boston University.

Ms. Marini has over 20 years of experience as a therapist and specializes in working with children, ages 0-17. She also provides individual counseling for adults, as well as therapeutic parent consultations, to ensure a more integrative approach to therapy and to meet the needs of the whole family. 

Her specializations include providing relationship and skills-based play therapy for her younger clients and more cognitive-behavioral approaches for her teen and adult clients.  Additionally, Ms. Marini specializes in providing EMDR-based therapy to both children and adults with PTSD, anxiety and depression.

Ms. Marini also has extensive experience working with clients with history of abuse, neglect and trauma, as well as those with high-functioning autism, school adjustment issues, peer and relationship problems, OCD, ADHD, chronic medical conditions and anger management issues.

Lisa E. Page, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Houston and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. She has over 13 years of experience as a therapist and specializes in working with clients, ages 8 and up.  

Ms. Page has extensive training and experience in various settings, including a psychiatric hospital, a domestic violence counseling center, a partial hospitalization program with animal-assisted therapies and as a counselor at a military installation. She also has numerous years of experience providing EMDR and DBT-based therapies with both teen and adult clients, as well as play therapy, ABA and sand tray-based therapy with younger children.  In addition to these, Ms. Page is certified to provide canine-assisted therapy, at her clients' request, to help them work through their anxiety or past trauma and increase their coping skills.

Her other areas of specialization include ADHD, high functioning autism, school or behavioral problems, major life transitions, communication and relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, obesity, sleep problems and borderline personality disorder.  Ms. Page relies primarily on strength-based and mindfulness-based treatment approaches, as well as CBT, social skills training and trauma focused therapy, depending on her clients' needs.
